It has been a busy time  in the ManCave, recording a real variety of books.  This one should spark a reaction from anyone who has studied English Literature at degree level or who’s interested in the development of English Lit and political and theological thinking.  It was written by William Langland in the middle ages and is a long (occasionally rambling!) allegorical tale about how to lead a Christian life in Medieval England – under Catholic rule at the time.

The original was written in the late 1300’s and my audio reading comes from a later Victorian adaptation by Arthur Burrell, subtitled “A version for the Modern Reader” (mid 1800’s).

Available through Ukemi Audiobooks – a digital label that is fast compiling a great collection of fresh readings of classic works.
